Supporting Anganwadis – Replacing Aluminium with Stainless Steel Utensils

During its regular village visits, Shatrunjay Yuvak Mandal ensures that every section of the village ecosystem is understood and supported—especially those that care for the youngest and most vulnerable. One such crucial institution is the Anganwadi, where infants and young children receive essential nutrition during their most formative years.

Recognizing the importance of early childhood health, the Mandal conducted visits to 20+ Anganwadis, where specialized doctors and nutritionists from Wadhwa Hospital assessed children by recording key health indicators such as height, weight, and nutritional status. Alongside this, mothers were educated on child care practices and age-appropriate nutrition to support healthy growth.

Based on medical and nutritional recommendations, it was strongly advised that aluminium utensils be replaced with stainless steel, ensuring safer and more hygienic food preparation for children. Acting swiftly on this guidance, Shatrunjay Yuvak Mandal organized a district-level initiative, inviting all Anganwadis of Palitana to participate.

In a dedicated distribution event held in the presence of the SDM, Palitana, and DYSP, Palitana, stainless steel cooking utensils were gifted to more than 130+ Anganwadis, ensuring a uniform, safe, and long-lasting improvement in meal preparation practices across the district.
